Visited after their lunch rush and place looks like it got swamped with a few of their large tables still have dishes that have not been cleared. Set menus as well as à la carte offered. Enjoyed the dim sum and staff were friendly. This is my second time in this restaurant and remains one of the best ones in Ottawa.

Went for late day dim sum. Was able to order from their menu but was told not everything was available which we understood since it was about 3 pm. Everything came out hot and tasty. The shrimp and pork shumai were large and juicy. The shrimp hargow were also large tasty. The soup dumplings were perfect with right amount of liquid. The deep fried squid wasn’t as flavourful as some other places but still good. From the regular menu, The crispy beef was tender and crispy but a little too sweet with not much heat. The Yang chow fried rice was good. Also ordered wonton soup for 8 people. The waitress served it out starting with 2 wontons per bowl but realized at the end that the last bowls would only have 1 each and gave them the bbq pork pieces that was also in the bowl. The broth was very good and the wontons well stuffed.

My friends suggested having a birthday lunch twice to celebrate his 90th birthday in September. The dishes were perfect for seniors and everyone, with plenty of dim sum and other options available. The staff were really friendly too. Highly recommend, especially since there aren’t many large Chinese restaurants in Chinatown in downtown Ottawa.
